12 Rules for Sakura Ohanami

If you know the rules for Sakura Ohanami, you will enjoy it more comfortably.

#1 Do not touch Sakura blossoms or the branches. Do not break a branch.

#2 Do not climb the trees. Do not curve your signature on a tree.

#3 You can drink alcohol in most parks. However, do not get dead drunk. 

#4 Bring your garbage to home (or hotel). When there is a trash box in a park, usually you have to separate cans, pet bottles and other garbage. 

#5 Wait in line to use a toilet. Keep the toilet clean. Do not take toilet papers out. Do not pee outside even if public toilets are crowded.

#6 Do not make a fuss or shout out loud. Please keep in mind that there are other people next to you.

#7 Do not feed birds or fishes.

#8 Do not use fire or portable gas cookers. 

There are some rules depends on the parks. 

#9 Some parks have an area for group to sit. However, it is prohibited to keep the large space for a long time waiting for your company.

#10 In some parks, the ground is divided into sitting area and walking area. Do not sit and eat or drink in a walking area. Use sitting area then.

#11  Some parks close at a certain time. For example, in the Ueno Park, lanterns lights will turn off at 20:00. That means a party should be ended at 20:00. The Ueno Park close from 23:00 to 5:00.

#12 In some parks such as the Ueno Park, using tables and chairs is prohibited.
